ASSESSMENT AND THERAPY
Consistent assessment and therapy for children with and without EHCP support. Speech and language therapy can be delivered in groups or 1:1 via the speech & language therapist or the designated teaching assistant under guidance and supervision from therapy network speech and language therapy team.
A variety of specialist reports: educational healthcare plan, initial assessment and progress reports. All reports are distributed to parents and other professionals to ensure open communication about our assessment and interventions.
We offer a range of exciting training initiatives:
INSET training to create awareness of speech, language and communication needs in the classroom.
Working in partnership with SENCo’s to develop whole class and whole school teaching programmes.
Speech and Language Therapists also Train teaching assistants to use our screening programme to help identify speech and language needs; as well as supporting them to carry out therapy programmes.
Written targets for education and healthcare plan reports, which are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely. All speech and language therapy targets are reviewed every half term to ensure the child is meeting their goals.
Meetings and training workshops with parents and carers to equip them with the knowledge and skills to support the development of their child’s speech, language and communication needs at home.
Attendance at education healthcare plan meetings, annual reviews and joint trouble shooting with teachers & educational psychology and other healthcare professionals.
Cognition and learning, Communication and Interaction, Emotional, social & mental health difficulties.
