Stars Learning Centre is able to offer Dyslexic advice, assessment and tutoring, in association with Dyslexia North East.
Stars Learning Centre can now offer children and adults; IDL (Indirect Dyslexia Learning) and TTRS (Touch-Type Read and Spell) courses.
Both courses use multisensory learning methods. IDL is a specialist literacy software programme for people with dyslexic difficulties. It is highly successful at raising reading and spelling levels. It builds up skills gradually in a stress-free way, in which students work at their own pace and not in a classroom or school environment.
TTRS is a structured program of phonics using touch typing. It is a modular in design, and each module typically takes a few minutes to complete, with students success encouraged by immediate feedback and positive reinforcement. Both courses aim to develop literacy skills, confidence, self¬-esteem and motivation, that can then lead to positive outcomes at school and help towards employment.
