Head2Head theatre is a charity dedicated to the special needs’ community providing educational entertainment that is inclusive and accessible.  We work with a wide range and varied levels of disabilities including, for example, visual, hearing and sensory impairments, acquired brain injury, PMLD, SLCN, ASD, SLD, MLD and complex health needs.

All our shows and songs are specifically written for P level targets up to NC Level 1.  We offer immersive, visual and tactile stimulation with a heavy emphasis on the 3Rs: rhyme, rhythm, repetition.  We provide some Makaton signing with voice output communication aids, puppetry and loads of sensory experiences.  Our work is interactive with loads of role playing and/or team work opportunities.  Each product comes with an advance pack, filled with widget symbol storylines and songs, plus photographs of sets and characters.

We are available throughout London and SE England. We tour our multi-sensory shows, pantomimes, immersive experiences (curriculum-based or story-based drama) and mask workshops throughout the year.  We visit special schools, colleges and other venues, including private birthday parties.  We offer free presentations – please enquire.

Working in partnership with special schools we provide walkabout theatre for children and young people with a wide range and varied levels of disabilities in which they can share the fun with their neurotypical siblings and other family members.  Each half-day provides great opportunities for networking with other families so bring along a picnic and enjoy our lunchtime activities (sensory tent, craft activities and games).  Each special school venue is safe and secure, fully accessible with hoist and changing facilities.  Most have on-site parking.

With subsidies from Kent, Hampshire, East Sussex, West Sussex and Surrey County Councils, the cost is just £5 per person for a half-day of fun activities which the whole family may enjoy.  Pre-booking is essential.

At the start of each two-day visit we provide one session dedicated to children and young people with ASD.  Bring along a picnic and enjoy our lunchtime activities (sensory tent, craft and games).  You and your child will be given a familiarisation tour of the theatre set, exploring sensory props and meeting the characters.
This session costs £8 (for up to 4 persons) but, if your child settles and wishes to stay on for the afternoon performance, you may pay extra (£2: 2 persons, £7: 3 persons, £12: 4 persons.  Pre-booking essential.

Check out our website for dates and venues near you.

In partnership with special schools we tour the South East England providing weekend public pantomime performances of a multi-sensory pantomime.  These allow families to have fun together in a safe and relaxed atmosphere.  Tickets are £5 each.  Pre-booking essential.
