In every school a small but significant number of students with complex issues present real challenges for senior management as to how best to meet their education needs and comply with statutory requirements.
Education Pathways is an innovative provider set up by highly specialised teachers who have many years experience working with schools to teach and support challenging students and for those whom attendance at school is an issue.
Increasing demands on school budgets and sustained cutbacks to Local Authority support services mean that it is increasingly difficult to finance the costs associated with hard to engage students. Education Pathways can ensure continuity of education and support reintegration in the most cost effective way possible.
Students of primary or secondary age, in Cheshire East and West, may be referred to the service for many reasons including though not exclusively those -
Who are disengaged
Who are identified as being "at risk" of becoming a school refuser
Whose challenging behaviour makes it difficult for them to be taught in school
Who may be in danger of exclusion and require early intervention to help prevent this
Who cannot attend school for medical reasons, including mental health issues
Who need targeted support for literary and/or numeracy.
Teaching can take place off site, where necessary, at an appropriate venue such as the local library, childrens centre or in the home.
